Honda Aircraft Company, Inc. (HACI), has recently took the next major step toward delivering HondaJet to its customers as it recently broke ground for its new 369,000 square foot headquarters and manufacturing facility at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) airport in Greensboro, North Carolina.
“By breaking ground for this new Honda Aircraft facility today, we take the next important step in getting HondaJets into the skies tomorrow,” said Michimasa Fujino, president & CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, Inc. “With the warm reception we have received in the Triad, and the great response HondaJet has received from our customers, we are confident of a very bright future here in North Carolina.”
According to the company press release, HACI will manage the research, development, sales, marketing and manufacturing of the advanced light jet, HondaJet. The new facility will replace the company’s existing 32,000 square foot hangar and office complex at PTI. The HondaJet production facility, measuring approximately 150,000 square feet, is currently in the design phase. HACI plans to begin deliveries of HondaJet to customers in 2010.
Investment for construction of the headquarters and production facility reportedly cost about $100 million including equipment. Total Honda Aircraft Company employment, including all engineering, sales and marketing, manufacturing and support activities, will increase to approximately 350 associates once the manufacturing plant reaches full production.
In addition, the company anticipates that about 90 percent of HondaJet’s component parts will be supplied by companies in the U.S. and Canada.
HondaJet is Honda’s first-ever commercial aircraft and aims to live up to the company’s reputation for dynamic performance together with superior efficiency, delivering class-topping cruise speed and fuel efficiency, greater luggage capacity and a more spacious cabin with seating for up to eight people, compared to other products in the very light jet (VLJ) class.

4. Colorize: Wearing colors that don’t match is going to continue into the new year. Yellow t-shirts with orange shorts, or a purple shirt with blue jeans and a green jacket is not extraordinary.
5. Refined, yet Rebellious: skinny jeans aren’t out but they don’t have the clout they did in 2008. Men are beginning to look more masculine with open shirts, motorcycle jackets and military prints. Easy elegance, with fabrics like linen and knitwear will be prevalent as well. Don’t be surprised if you see these looks combined.
6. Prints: Plaid, gingham, and stripes are classic and never go out of style. Don’t worry about combining them either – matching madras with gingham in 2010 was a hot look, and will continue to be in the new year.
7. Retro Sneakers: Chinese sneaks are especially hot because they’re a lot like clothing blanks – they don’t have brand names slathered all over them. Choose a neutral color like white and if you love shoes, maybe a more exotic color, like honeysuckle , that light pink orange that is the 2011 color of the year.
8. Neutrality: Funky colors are fine – in moderation. But the best way to relax and look good is to choose classics like black, white, navy, olive. Mixing them is okay, and you can wear them while watching tv or when you go to the country club.
9. Suits: The three piece suit is still hot from all the Mad Men influence. skinny ties and vests are another option if you want to look less formal by losing the coat. You can still pull it off and look good. Just remember to keep your shoes shined.
These are trends not laws, so keep your eyes open on how to wear them best. Ultimately, it’s about how you feel comfortable, whether you’re wearing blank clothing or that three piece suit.
