Motorcycle Helmets For Women

motorcycle helmets for women
Best kind of motorcycle gear?

My boyfriend is about to buy his first motorcycle. I’ve never had any experience riding, but it looks like I’ll be sitting b*tch for a while now! haha. I really have no idea where to start here. I need assistance/advice!

Helmets are not required in our state but I’m interested in being as safe as possible. What should I look for in a decent helmet and protective gear?

Do you like full face, open face, or the flip up helmets, and why?

What kind of jacket do most girls prefer and why? Are all jackets similar in quality or do some brands stick out as above others?

And as a side note… he’s getting a sportsbike. What do women do with their purses and stuff they might need to carry? Shove it into a backpack?

A couple of good sources for women’s gear:

newenough.com
motorcyclecloseouts.com

Both sites have sections dedicated to women’s gear, and I’ve purchased from both. Good customer service and return policies.

Personally, I like full face helmets. The Hurt study showed that in about 40% of motorcycle accidents in which the helmet was impacted, the helmet suffered a blow to the chin area. Full face helmets offer the strongest protection you can get there. Flip faces are nice, and I wouldn’t fault anyone for choosing one, but I can’t think that the chin area is as strong as on a full face.

Open face helmets; well, they’re better than no helmet at all, I suppose. However, they offer just about no protection to your face. I like my face, and I can’t afford to get any uglier.

There are lots of jackets available. The brands mentioned previously are good-Icon, Joe Rocket, etc. You’ll need to choose between leather and textile. Leather offers more protection from abrasion, and may look more stylish, but has some disadvantages. What if there’s an unexpected rainstorm? Many leather jackets offer no waterproofing, and will soak up water. What if you’re too hot? You may be able to find jackets with perforated leather, but those jackets won’t be suitable for milder weather. I like textile jackets, especially those with removable panels for really hot weather. Check out the Joe Rocket Alter Ego. I got one for my wife, and she loves it.

A backpack is a great place to carry your extra gear.

Another note. I see lots of women going with open-toed shoes or sandals on bikes. Your feet are among the most vulnerable parts of your body in a motorcycle accident. Please wear boots.

Good luck!

Types Of Units Offered By An Oakland Self Storage Facility

All good storage houses offer a variety of storing units, catering to the varied customer needs. From weather controlled units to mini-cargo spaces and from regular units to cellars, an Oakland Self Storage Facility offers them all.

Mini Units:

Mini units are excellent for storing smaller items. Things like file boxes, smaller furnishings, and miniature objects are excellent for these cargo spaces. They come with temperature control.

Cellars:

If you are a fond collector of vintage wines and need proper storing space, then these units are best for you. Cellars are built with suitable temperature control so that wines can be preserved appropriately.

Wine cellars are a great help for those who do not have the space or means to build stockrooms at their residence.

Outside Units Or drive Up Units:

Outside units are the most convenient as one can drive directly to them. These units are best to store sport utility vehicles, boats, cars, and similar items. An Oakland Self Storage Facility, with outside units, also provides cleaning and maintenance services to preserve the health of the vehicles. These facilities are offered at an additional charge.

These units are extremely convenient since you can easily back a truck right to them and drop off stuff there. You are not required to carry goods up or down a building so as to get to a unit inside the Oakland Self Storage Facility. Moreover, as the doors of these units are like garage doors that move up, the gap is big enough to easily store things such as furniture and appliances, and even certain motor vehicles can drive in, if the warehouse lets motors in their drive-up units.

Unfortunately, these spaces mostly come with no temperature control; hence make sure you don’t store anything that’s weather sensitive.

Weather Control Units

Climate controlled units are best to store weather sensitive goods like wooden furniture, clothes, papers, and similar stuff.

These Oakland Storage Facilities have control devices that help keep the temperature inside the units’ in control, to restrict the dampness and also to render the air dry. Apart from this, for added consistency, these units are kept insulated.

Regular Units

A regular unit comes in various different dimensions, without the climate control facility. These cargo spaces are apt to store goods that do not have the possibility of damage due to extremities in the weather conditions.
Regular units are the cheapest form of cargo spaces available in an Oakland Self Storage Facility.

A General Overview:

Outdoor storing units are normally cheaper than the indoor units. One can lease cargo spaces big enough for large RVs or petite enough for a one-person recreational vehicle like a motorcycle or four-wheeler. It might be covered with a carport, consisting of gravel or cement floors.
Security is of primary importance when you look for a storing unit; hence make sure you only sign up with an Oakland Self Storage Facility that makes use of state-of-the art security measures to ensure complete protection of the stockroom.

An Oakland Self Storage Facility comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. From units as small as a tiny closet to as big as a house.

Suzuki Motorcycles For Sale In Illinois

August 30th, 2010 admin No comments

i bought a motorcycle with a bill of sale can i get a tittle for it?

bought a 1980 suzuki gs 250. i got a bill fo sale but no tittle, guy said it was a barn find. i live in illinois

You will have to file for a bond title. The procedure varies from state to state. Contact your local DMV to get the paperwork started. The short list of how it typically works is, 1. they do a title search based on vin. 2. you sometimes have to run a newspaper ad and/or try and contact the registered owner. 3. pay a bond ($) to get the title. On that old of a bike the bond won’t be much. It is not a terrible thing to do just a process.

Phoenix Rising are focussed on Safety and Professionalism alongside with being able to provide full satisfaction within the realm of the fantasy of the “Biker” look and the “Harley Davidson” image to our customer.

Recently we did a huge Corporate Group pick up from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport. A marketing Agency in New Zealand were bringing 76 Ford Dealership Owners over for the launch of the new Ford. Logistically it was a lot of work, we had to communicate with Traffic Management at the Airport, who we must say were absolutely fantastic, we had so much co-operation, they were well aware that this was the largest “Harley Ride” done in Melbourne. Traffic Management provided a special holding area that we could assemble all the bikes, trikes, sidecars and Coach in, where we gave our briefing, they provided a special escort vehicle to us, we waited for the word from the group that they were coming out of customs and it was all systems go, from where I was sitting in the Coach travelling behind the group of about 30 Harleys with the Escort Vehicle up in front it was nothing less than spectacular.

The bikes pulled up right at the front door of International Arrivals with the Traffic Management guys doing their thing and keeping everything clear for us. We got quite a bit of attention from everyone at the airport. This was certainly not the everyday average thing at the Airport. Our passengers came out, the luggage was thrown into the coach and it was “All Systems Go!” The entourage pulled away down the Tullamarine Freeway and down to Albert Park Lake where we changed over the passengers from the bikes to the coach and visa versa.

The second group had a Harley Tour around St Kilda, passed Luna Park and back to meet the first group at Crown Promenade where they were staying.

This is an email from the marketing agent about the job

Hi Terry and Christine,

Just a quick note to say THANK YOU so very much for your assistance and in making the fantastic pickup happen so flawlessly, and so professionally (and so dramatically!) yesterday. The feedback over the weekend has been nothing but awesome and I know it’s because of the great way you guys started it off. The guys were so excited and they kept saying how awesome it was – even some of our older, more cynical clients loved it!!

Both myself and the team at Ford Really really appreciate all your efforts in speaking to the airport and arranging the collection and in your fantastic and helpful attitude towards making this work for us. I know it was just an amazing day for all involved and I hope your team really enjoyed it too. I hope you managed some rest and shouted yourself a drink yesterday afternoon! I’m still going and have just put the last of our guys back on planes before heading back to New Zealand tonight, so am planning to take a few days off.

Thank you again for your help and in making this event work so well for us – we can’t wait to see the dvd and share it with the clients so do let me know when you have that…and thanks for sending the pics in the meantime. We’ll settle the invoice this week and thanks for your flexibility on the day. Speak soon, and have a great week. It was great to meet you and if we ever do client events in Melbourne again I know exactly where to come!

words cannot explain how thrilled we are to get this sort of feedback from our customers, our main focus is on customer service, when our customers are happy then we know we have done a great job. If you would like to arrange a booking or event please visit our website at http://www.phoenixrisingharley.com.au

Kind Regards Terry & Christine

motorcycle backpack for dogs
Corgi in backpack on a motorcycle?

hey peeps i really like Pembroke corgis and i go on ~40 – 60 mile long offroad / dual sport motorcycle trips by my self i thought it would be cool to have a companion with me i know they have tank bags for dogs but on the dirt and rocks wouldn’t it just slip off? so i thought about a backpack i can carry roughly 40lbs on my back but would the dog be ok? or should i get a big dog and make him run next to me? haha
should i take my chihuahua?

Ah, no. Take the dog for a walk, you both get exercise, then go offroading w/o dog.
