so I’ve been really considering buying my first motorcycle, and I was wondering what insurance company is the best to go with for insurance, and how much it costs, also what are some things to consider and be wary of when buyingmotorcycle insurance? Thanks!
a cruiser will be the least expensive. Depending on the state you on a new cruiser 800cc or less on a new bike if you are over 25 your price could be as cheap as 200 per year with comp and collision. If you get any bike where you lean over the gas tank with comp and collision you could be looking at 1800-3500 per year.
Progressive is the largest insurer of motorcycles. Check there first and then look at GEICO.

I am just wondering because I am 17, and I need to get to and back from work. Just give me a rough estimate please. That’s all I need to know… Don’t tell me to check with my family‘s insurance because it is too much work when I can just come on here and get an estimate to see if it is in my price range. Thanks ahead of time!
I am planning on driving an old street legal dirt bike granted it isn’t too pricey.
Insurance is not rated by state. The insurance carrier adjusts rates. As a motorcycle owner the best rates I have found is Dairyland.
Im paying 124 dollars per year for collision.
I’m looking for a motorcycle for under $300 to use for transport. I can restore and rebuild easily. I just need all or most of the parts to be on the bike and in usable or restorable condition. I have heard that craigslist and other sites, as well as people who simply want to get rid of their bikes, sometimes offer very low prices or even give non-runners away, but I have not seen anything like that here in Houston.
If you know any dealers, private sellers, auction houses, auction magazines, etc, that would sell a restorable nonrunner for $300 or less I would really appreciate it.
Forgive my spelling and grammar but I’m in a hurry.
PS- I would prefer a standard (naked) style bike, from Japan or Germany.
Sorry,… you ain’t gonna find that kind or any other bike for $300 or less. The good news is that you are in Houston. There’s GOT to be 4 or 5 motorcycle wrecking/salvage yards in and around Harris county, up to Conroe, from over to Baytown to Katy. I’m talking about somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 square miles: You will have to do some driving. Find the sum of the parts and make it whole again…a bike that was wrecked in front…the back is good. The same model bike in another yard that was tagged in the rear… the front is good. (you get the picture) It ain’t gonna be that simple, but it will be interesting for you. happy hunting….
